Leading Mobile SSP PubNative Acquired by Major Media and Gaming Investment Firm – MGI

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Mobile monetization platform PubNative GmbH announced that it has been acquired by one of the top investment firms in Germany, Media and Games Invest plc (formerly Blockescence plc), in order to further develop and enhance its mobile publishing properties.

Media and Games Invest plc (MGI) is the holding company of a.o. Hamburg-based gamigo AG, a leading video game publisher aiming to expand into the mobile ecosystem on an international level.​

The successful acquisition will accelerate PubNative’s growth and open up new opportunities for expansion in the EMEA, U.S., and APAC regions. Additionally, the mobile SSP and ad exchange will gain access to more international gaming inventory and grow its publisher base. The gamigo Group and PubNative share a common vision to satisfy the needs of publishers by maximizing revenue potential, and the acquisition will allow gamigo to strengthen the Group’s mobile strategy and overall international media presence. The aim of PubNative will also be the establishment of regional partnerships for media buy-ins for external media clients and gamigo internally.

gamigo AG is a German-based publisher, founded in 2000, which publishes free-to-play online and mobile games in Europe and North America and is majority controlled by MGI, which is a publicly listed company.

PubNative GmbH is one of the few independent mobile SSP and ad exchanges. Since it was founded in 2014, PubNative has made great headway in the mobile advertising industry, first focusing solely on native advertising to building its own multi-format optimization engine and mobile header bidding solutions for app developers to enhance their revenues.
